The
Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC)
program was launched in 2018 by the Ministry
of Education (MoE) in collaboration with AICTE to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs).
The Bengal Institute of Technology (BIT)
established its own council (IIC-BIT)
in the same year and actively promotes innovation among students through
seminars, workshops, debates, training sessions, and other entrepreneurship
development programs. It encourages students to develop critical skills and
thinking power. IIC-BIT also
organizes idea competitions and hackathons to showcase various innovative
projects and prototypes by the students.
The council also provides incubation support for promising startups.
Additionally, IIC-BIT facilitates
industry collaboration through visits, guest lectures, and expert interaction
sessions to expose students to real-world challenges and best practices.
