The Community Development Programme has been a successful rural reconstruction scheme undertaken by Bengal Institute of Technology. Every year BIT organizes this programme on 21st of January for under privileged children and their parents living in the villages in the vicinity of the college. More than 10 to 12 schools and villagers from the entire area participate in this programme. It is an attempt to encourage the children for their overall extra-curricular and psychomotor development. The programme not only outreaches the children but also their parents. We also try to give back something in return of what the society offers us through organizing free health and eye check check-ups and we stand up to greater cause of saving human life through Blood Donation Camps.

Faculty and students play a great role to see the excitement on their faces. Renowned doctors from well-known medical institutes are invited for the heath and eye check-up camps. All the children get consolation prizes and the first three performers get exciting prizes for their performances. As community development is an attempt to being about a social transformation of village life through the efforts of the people themselves.

BIT’s aims to celebrate this programme with a grand success every year. We celebrate Community Development Programme in our own way to exhibit solidarity and our commitment to wards society and with the years passing by we would continue to do so with privilege and honour.
